Race for a good cause

At the time, it was racing driver Luca Somaschini who represented the party on shock absorbers for us. Now his daughter Rachele uses our Modular Damper System in the Italian MINI Challenge and the hill climb championships.

The young female racing driver, known for having cystic fibrosis, collects donations at every race which go toward the research of the to-date incurable metabolic disease. Rachele is currently competing in her MINI F56 in the Italian MINI Challenge. She is en route on our shock absorbers. As in the Alfa Romeo GTV Cup, we are also represented in the MINI Challenge Italia as a technical partner and sponsor. The MINIs have been equipped with our Modular Damper System from N.T.P on the front and rear axles. The multi-configurable adjustment range enables the teams maximum flexibility as the set-up can be adapted to the racing track without problems from changes. Rachele even holds her ground during the demanding hill climbing within the CIVM Championship. There she has a MINI R56 as support which is likewise on our MDS suspension kit. It was developed and adapted at the BILSTEIN Service Center N.T.P. Through the 2-way adjustability, the suspension can be maximally individualised and adjusted to the incidences on-site.

En route for the good cause

Rachele is always accompanied by her illness. This is currently incurable. For that reason you can read “#CorrerePerUnRespiro” on her front windscreen, which means so much as “Racing for a breath”. The young racing driver collects donations throughout the season and in doing so supports an initiative, which generates awareness for an illness and finances its research.

…setting adjustment from inside the car with the OE interfaces of the Nissan GT-R. The driver can chose “Normal”, “Comfort” or “Race” mode.
The engineer in the “Bilstein Technical Center” of NTP, use the original Bilstein piston rod and working piston, which is also in the original Nissan GT-R, but with a stiffer setting for road use but also Track-days.

The kit is completely plug-and-play and is not necessary to make modification.
In combination with the Bilstein dampers, we use Eibach ERS springs, with a stiffer rating, to have less movement and to have a direct response of the car on road and track.
In combination with the Eibach-Bilstein Coilover kit NTP has also in program the Eibach stabilizer bar with a diameter of 35mm on the front and 16mm on the rear

Tutto l’esterno è stato creato dai tecnici di NTP, dall’assetto rialzato Eibach-Bilstein, ai fari anteriori BMW supplementari, il portapacchi sul tetto in alluminio e legno, cerchi, gomme e distanziali per abbinarlo allo stile “Scrambler” della moto di casa BMW – la R Nine T Scrambler.

Dopo la MINI Countryman by C.P. Company – vedi quì è già la seconda vettura allestita da NTP per MINI Italia.

Siamo molto fieri che MINI Italia ci ha affidato questo lavoro e siamo molto contenti con il risultato finale.

Week-end di gara pieno di successi per i team equipaggiati con prodotti by NTP

Nel campionato GT3 in gara 1 a Imola tutte le vetture nei Top 10 erano equipaggiate con prodotti distribuiti by NTP.

Podio gara 1 per Venturi-Gai su Ferrari 488, davanti a Sini-Mugelli su Aston Martin Vantage e Bortolotti-Mul (Lamborghini Huracan)

Anche in gara 2 podio completato da vetture con materiali by NTP. Vittoria di Bortolotti-Mul Lamborghini), davanti a Mapelli-Albuquerque (Audi R8 LMS) e Comandini-Cerqui (BMW M6)

Nel campionato Italiano TCR vittoria in gara 1 e 2 per Viberti con ammortizzatori Bilstein MDS e molle Eibach. Sul podio anche Petr Fullin e Roberto Colciago anchessi con materiali by NTP

SEAT Leon Cup, tutte le vetture equipaggiate con ammortizzatori Bilstein MDS 2-vie e molle Eibach, vittoria per Baldan in gara 1 e Giacon in gara 2.

Seat Ibiza Cup, doppietta per Volpato in entrambe le gare.

Monomarca MINI Challenge con molle Eibach, ammortizzatori Bilstein, cerchi BBS, filtri K&N e batterie al litio Aliant. Vittoria in entrambe le gare per Ivan Tramontozzi

we have all been there: Handling of production vehicles in bends is often unsatisfactory. This is due to the resulting lateral forces which the piston rod, piston rod guide and seal are highly subjected to with standard struts. Vehicles equipped with BILSTEIN upside-down struts …

…(BILSTEIN B6, B8, etc.) show improved driving characteristics in bends and on uneven roads. The reason: The supporting and lateral forces are spread over a wide area of the damper tube, thereby creating an almost distortion-free link between wheel and vehicle body.

BILSTEIN struts and cartridges with the “thick” damper tube handle higher lateral forces particularly well. Gas pressure struts and cartridges are produced with a piston rod in lower position (piston rod is bolted to the base piece of the pressure tube). This means that the shock absorber tube moves up and down in “BILSTEIN-specific” plain bearings between pressure tube and chromium-plated damper tube.

With the BILSTEIN upside-down technology, the chrome tube (shock absorber cartridge) rests inside plain bearings in the strut. A special lubricating grease is used to permanently optimize friction. During storage or even with already installed struts, this white (previously red) grease can bleed out at the top of the dirt scraper and become visible, so the chrome tube gets coated with an “oil film”. It looks like oil, but it’s the components of the grease.

However, this is technically irrelevant because neither the function nor the quality of the BILSTEIN shock absorber are affected by this. The high-performance mono-tube strut has proven its worth. Its special design brings a major plus in terms of security and comfort to the production vehicle.

Last creation of our Bilstein Technical Center by NTP – coil-over kit with Eibach Springs and Bilstein PSS10 dampers in alluminum, with 10 different settings in rebound and bump. Car was driven durin the Formula 1 week-end at the Red-Bull-Ring with the driver Dieter Quester.

Ammortizzatori Bilstein con cartuccia a stelo rovesciato con diametro da 40mm (sistema up-side-down) – regolabile in altezza e in taratura a 10 scatti sia in estensione che compressione per uso strada e pista.
Incl. TopMount anteriore studiato e creato dai tecnici NTP su uniball e regolazione della sospensione anteriore fino a 4° sull'anteriore.
Esclusione del TopMount posteriore con attacco diretto del snodo sferico sulla scocca.

NTP è questo anno partner tecnico di Seat Motorsport Italia per il monomarca con le Seat Leon Cup Racer.

Tutte le Leon saranno equipaggiati con molle Eibach ERS e ammortizzatori Bilstein MDS a 2-vie.
Dopo 3 anni con un altro fornitore Seat ha deciso di cambiare tutte le vetture su ammortizzatori BILSTEIN, sia per le vetture dei diversi monomarca nazionali e anche l’EuroCup. Oltre a questo, anche tutte le vetture del campionato TCR Internazionale e Italiano saranno equipaggiate con ammortizzatori BILSTEIN e molle EIBACH.
N.T.P. sarà in pista a fare l’assistenza con il ns. Race-Truck dove all’interno abbiamo una officina completa per provare e modificare gli ammortizzatori. Durante alcuni eventi NTP effettuerà con i commissari di ACI Sport le verifiche dopo-gara per controllare che tutti gli ammortizzatori siano conformi.
La prossima gara sarà il week-end del 12/06/2016 a Misano.

NTP is again the supplier of the new Italian MINI Challenge 2016.

NTP is again the supplier of the new Italian MINI Challenge 2016. Already the last 4 years MINI used an Eibach-Bilstein B16 PSS10 specific built for the Italian Championship with the MINI R56 Cooper S. The new car will have a Bilstein MDS Clubsport 2-way adjustable dampers and a Bilstein 1-way on the rear.
NTP will also supply the K&N air filter, BBS 8×17” and ALIANT lithium battery with a weight of just 2.5 kg
